Aetrex Inc., a company specializing in foot scanning technology, orthotics and foot health solutions, is continuing its expansion through new partnerships and advancements in its technology.
The company’s latest growth initiative comes through a partnership with IMG Academy, the world's leading sports and education academy, in Bradenton, Fla. The partnership will bring Aetrex’s foot health technology to IMG Academy’s student-athletes, while expanding the company’s presence in the athletic performance space.
Aetrex has placed more than 12,000 scanners worldwide since 2002, completing more than 50 million foot scans, said the company. The partnership will bring Aetrex’s foot health technology to IMG Academy’s student-athletes.
Through the partnership, IMG Academy will have five Aetrex Albert Pro 3D foot scanners across campus, and will provide complimentary Aetrex athletic insoles designed to fit students’ Under Armour sneakers and cleats.
"In the sports world, speed, power, torque and athletic performance starts from the ground up, and foot health is important and under looked," said Michael Branch, vice president of Strategic Partnerships at IMG Academy.
Branch said the partnership will create a unique and elevated experience for athletes at the school, while helping Aetrex continue to expand its technology.
IMG Academy has approximately 1,700 student-athletes on campus. Each student will receive a custom scan examining 16 different measurements to recommend the best footwear options and create a custom insert during welcome week.
The scanners will be available in the campus retail store, offering discounts for staff, parents and campers. Two scanners will be located in the athletic training facility, one in the golf area and one mobile scanner will travel to events on campus.
“Our partnership with IMG Academy empowers student-athletes to maximize their daily performance while establishing foundational habits for lifelong foot health,” said Larry Schwartz, Aetrex, Inc. CEO, in a press release. “By integrating our premium orthotics into their essential gear at a young age, we ensure these individuals are well equipped for long-term success on the field and beyond.”
Having supportive footwear can help athletes improve mobility and reduce the risk of injuries during practices and games.
"The focus on our partnership is the scanners to help our athletes, but they are developing new product liens to launch with us to test and then will roll them out more broadly," Branch said. "We used the scanners last year, but on a limited basis now with the official partnership we will be scaling use for every student athlete and camper."
The Aetrex Albert Pro 3D foot scanners have been recognized with CES Innovation Awards Honorees in 2022 and 2023, according to the company.
Aetrex also offers additional foot measurement technology, including the Zoe Pro, Albert Pro, Albert Pressure and iStep systems, designed to analyze foot measurements and pressure points.
The New Jersey-based company has been included in New Jersey’s Top 100 Privately Held Companies and NJBIZ’s Top 30 Manufacturing Companies, according to Aetrex.
The partnership with IMG Academy is one of several recent milestones for Aetrex. In March 2026, the company announced its FitAI technology surpassed 2 million recommendations for shoppers across more than 500 retail locations.
“FitAI enhances our store’s premium, end-to-end fit experience,” said Fit2Run Chief Operating and Customer Officer John Wompey in a press release. “The program extends beyond the store. Its accuracy and ease of use drive customer loyalty, while seamlessly integrating the in-store and online journey for a smooth, streamlined shopping experience.”
As Aetrex continues expanding its technology and partnerships, retailers can request a demonstration of the company’s foot scanning systems to explore how the technology can enhance the customer fitting experience.
Branch said IMG Academy’s student-athletes could help amplify Aetrex’s message as they continue their athletic careers and become ambassadors for the importance of lifelong foot health.
